Hi I am retired as well Technical work but have been in churches for 40 years was retired 12 years ago. Christians should not retire but refire for there is much to do for the kingdom of God, at our door step and around the world, I have a focus in Africa amoungst poor and uneducated. There is much need every where you look. I was in LA 2 years and saw the poor and rejected and needy there and was shocked to see this in a developed country you expect it in the third world but not in the first world. Now I am retired I have much more time to be involved in the ministry of the kingdom.
So bless you and blog on do what ever your hand find to do and do it for the LORD he is faithfull in all things

We shouldn’t have to bailout the “Big 3″, but I believe it will be a necessity. But there need to be changes and conditions met before he money is dispensed. A few of my suggestions are:

1. The union workers would need to agree to reduced wages for a predetermined amount of time (maybe partial reimbursement in stock so that workers will be “paid” for their efforts when/if stock becomes more solid).

2. No dividends payout for a predetermined amount of time (so that decisions can be made in the best interest of the comany, not the shareholders’ profit).

3. Reduce CEO/Executive salaries to a base of $1m (with tough performance bonus objectives), limit on expense account spending. If the union workers are required to renegotiate their contracts, then the same should be expected of the CEOs and other executives. It should be understood that golden parachutes and other “extras” will not be paid out if they leave (termination or voluntarily) within a predetermined timeframe. If they quit, they don’t benefit.

4. Require that each recipient provide an outline of where and how the money will be utilized (a business plan.. what a concept!).

5. Each CEO that accepts bailout money should be held personally accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley-type review of the funds being disbursed per the business plan they submitted when asking for funds. I would also like to see each CEO put up a “collateral” (personal guarantee) such as lien on home(s) or bank accounts or stock portfolio, that can be seized by the government in the event the money is used fradulently or cavalierly.

Granted, these are rough examples of what can be done, but I hold myself accountable and I expect these executioves to be held to the same standards of ethical behavior.

Has anyone looked into the LA tape as a matter for Homeland Security ? Seeing Obamais running for the top of the chain of command it only reasons that you look into any associations with known terrorists. We cant have a terrorist loving President. Unless he has something to hide where is the hard. Wait its the hard question again. the DNC says run a way.
Under the Patriot Act they don’t have to give it to GOP but they do have to turn it in to Homeland Security .

You definitely have a handle on what’s wrong with America’s value system! I have a request of you. Do you think you could calculate how much the total combined salaries of ALL the professional athletes in this country made for 2007? That would include: Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Hockey for starters. I would be interested to know that insane figure! Wouldn’t that money be better used to help our economy? I could be wrong, but during the Depression and WWII, didn’t professional sports get suspended for a while? Please email me when you find out. Thanks for the enlightening information. well the beauty of it all is that we’ll all be dead some day yes these things are occurring and yes they suck, however, one must wonder….

is it worth getting upset about? or is it better to just accept it happily since if nothing else, we’ll all be the same, and controlled, and managed, and our individuality stripped away…

after all, isn’t that what everyone wants really?
